More About My Work
I love to write. I need to write. If I don’t write, I get all itchy and irritable. It’s not pretty. Luckily, I don’t always need to write something worthwhile. Just jotting down notes and ideas helps relieve the ache, the quick little fix to my crack-like word addiction, but I try to spend at least one day a week doing nothing but writing. Usually on Sunday, I force myself to leave the dirty dishes in the sink, the clothes in the dryer, and the floors unswept as I put butt to chair, fingers to keys, and type out all those notes and ideas that had kept me sane all week.
One day, I hope to see my work in paperback with my name printed right there on the cover in pretty colors. Or even ugly colors, I don’t particularly care. I just want to be able to hold a book in my hands and go, “Yeah, this here? I wrote this.” But my pursuit of a publishing career is the result of my writing, not the other way around. If there was never any hope that my work could one day be published, I’d still write. As much as I love to share my work, I write for me.
Here’s the status of some of my manuscripts and/or WIPs (works-in-progress):
CAROLINA NORTH – Romantic Comedy
Complete, albeit pending a few more minor revisions.
TENTUK: Book 1 of the Padeia Trilogy- Fantasy
Complete, and though originally written as a standalone (and can still be considered as such), it has since become the first of a trilogy.
PYNIMY: Book 2 of the Padeia Trilogy - Fantasy
After completing this manuscript once, I’ve decided to rewrite it.
ADLAI: Book 3 of the Padeia Trilogy - Fantasy
Third of the Padeia trilogy. I have not yet begun this project, though it’s been mapped out.
TINY’S VENDETTA – Romantic Comedy
This manuscript is half-complete, but I’ve since taken a hiatus from it to work on others.
CANDI (short name, as yet untitled)- Romantic Comedy
My third romantic comedy in what’s apparently turning out be a very loose series. I have mapped out the majority of this story and it’s in line to be the next WIP after completion of TINY’S VENDETTA.GOOD LUCK CHARM – Romantic Comedy
Another book with the basic plot and characters waiting in the wings.
BEAR – Paranormal
My current WIP.MARK OF THE COMMON – Young Adult Fantasy
Jokingly referred to as my “Never-Ending Story”, this is actually my very first manuscript. I’ve been working on it for approximately 12 years now (geez… has it been that long?), and it is still incomplete, desperately in need of major revisions, and most likely should be split into a trilogy. I’ve included it, however, because I still work on it when I’m suffering from writer’s block (it’s my WB cure), and I would one day like to clean it up into something sellable.RICE’S CROSSING – Contemporary Romance

There are, of course, many other back burner stories that I haven’t listed here. Most have characters and the major turning points mapped out, and some even have several pages written, but none have gone into any great degree of production for a variety of reasons. I have short names for all of these stories, as I rarely come up with the title until I’m at least halfway through the manuscript itself (TINY’S VENDETTA being a rare exception), and I plan on eventually finishing them all.
